Generation 2 - Chapter 9

August 7, 2005

“Houston, come quick! My belly is bulging a lot. OMG, why did nobody tell me this!” Felicia screamed while staring at her belly.

Bulging belly

Houston rushed inside to see why his wife was screaming. When he saw her belly, he couldn’t resist rubbing it and told her it was the most beautiful belly he had ever seen. He was sure the baby would be lovely too.

Felicia calmed down when what she had experienced appeared to be normal. It was probably the hormones why she was panicing more easily. The last few months she had also found herself crying over movies that wouldn’t have touched her normally. An article in the newspaper about children being mistreated could make her miserable during 2 or 3 days. She hadn’t known being pregnant caused these kind of feelings with her.

All in all, Felicia was very happy with her life in Flower Valley. She lived close to her friend Anna and she had already made some promotions in law enforcement. She really enjoyed her job and the skill building that was required for it. That would probably change after the baby was born.

Houston had settled quite easily in Flower Vally. His job as a politician made sure he got to know a lot of people and he almost succeeded in making 10 best friends. He often took people with him after work and invited them for a game of chess or some playing red hands. All the while he remained very attentive to his wife and didn’t make a fuss over her mood changes due to the hormones.

Then one night, Felicia felt some contractions that were more heavy than she had experienced before. She instinctively knew this had to be the moment: she was in labor.

After some hours finally her son was born. Houston and Felicia decided to name him Austin. They weren’t too sure who he took after.

Houston immediately took up the being a daddy part, hoping that he would be best friends with his son very soon too.

Houston and Austin

After doing some games and funny sounds, he bathed Austin, fed him, changed his diapers and put him in his crib. Thus Felicia could recover from the heavy experience.

Felicia was in a good condition and soon felt like her old self. The passion between Houston and Felicia had remained unchanged and soon they felt like being intimate together.

They could adapt their schedules to the nursing of Austin and therefor they didn’t need to hire a nanny. Both their careers were going up and they enjoyed their time with Austin.

Soon Felicia started to feel sick in the mornings again. This was a feeling she recognized and a test quickly confirmed her suspicions: she was pregnant again.

Pregnant again

Some time later, Austin was to have his birthday. Houston insisted on throwing a party, although Felicia was tired from her pregnancy. She didn’t want to argue with Houston and let him have it his way.

He invited a lot of his old and new friends and ordered a cake for Austin. When everyone had arrived, he brought Austin to the cake and blew out the candles.

Austin's first birthday

He grew up to become a toddler with the same hair and skincolor as his father and his mother’s brown eyes. Everyone thought he was very cute, but Austin only wanted to be in his crib. He was exhausted from all the new impressions.

Soon Felicia was on maternity leave. She used this period to teach Austin to talk, because she probably wouldn’t have time for that when the other baby was born. Austin enjoyed very much this special period with his mother.

When she had learned him to talk, she started to learn him to walk to. Very soon Austin walked through the whole house and followed Felicia on her every footstep.

Again during a night, contractions awoke Felicia. She had gone through the experience before and was less frightened of it.

In labor again

This baby arrived a bit sooner than Austin and before Houston was well awake, Felicia had given birth to a daughter. They named her Faith. Felicia felt very blessed with both a son and a daughter in her home. Houston was a proud daddy to his little girl. And Austin was sound asleep, unaware of the little baby that would soon share the nursery with him.
