Explaining the silence

August 26, 2005

Hi everyone,

You haven’t heard from me for a while, nor from the Flowers Legacy Saga. As some of you might know, I was experiencing problems with my game. After a check-up of my computer (who runs much quieter now ;-) ) and a dozen reinstalls and several mails to EA support, tonight I was able to solve the problem. How the problem got in my game and how it was actually solved is still a mystery to me. But hey, I don’t have to understand it to be happy with the result!

Thanks to Jen from Greetings from Mt Geneva I was directed to the Unofficial Sims 2 Tech Guide. The section about crashes and freezes gives a step-by-step check on where the problem might be located. Within less than 30 minutes the problem was solved!

I want to thank everyone who read my sad and angry messages at TS2 Challenges and TS2 Classic Legacy and who expressed how much they would miss the Flowers Legacy Saga. I still have a bit of trouble believing the problems will really be over. So for a while I will concentrate on playing my simmies and making regular backups. And one day you will read again about Anna Flowers and her Legacy. And who knows, about other sims and challenges too.

Thank you!

Generation 2 - Chapter 13

While Anna was in her paranoia pregnancy period, Basil was enjoying college life very much. He had never known college and getting to know new people could be so exciting. He really was determined to make the most of it.

As he had told Anna already, Basil had moved into the same dorms and changed his haircut. He had chosen a mojor, but he really didn’t remember which one because he almost never went to class. He had another strategy to get A+.

Anna didn’t get much time to worry about Felicia’s words, because the baby announced it’s coming three weeks before the due date. Anna was a bit worried about the baby being so early, but she tried to concentrate on the contractions and on trying to relax between them. Both Remington and Beau stood by her side and tried to encourage her saying she was doing very well.

Life continued peacefully for the Flowers family. While Remington was working hard as a politician, Anna had most weekdays off and had enough time to spend with her daughter Barbara. After giving birth to two sons, a little girl in the house was a welcome change. She just couldn’t get enough of the cute giggle whenever she tickled Barbara.

Maybe Neil’s ghost felt something was bound to happen to this family, but on that night he decided to go hauting for the first time. He went straight to the easel and applauded like he had just sold one of his famous masterpieces.

Early in the morning, Anna and Beau sat together for the serious talk Anna had to have. As gently as possible, she tried to tell him he is going to have a little brother and sister. Fortunately he took that message very well and he seemed even looking forward to not being the youngest anymore.

When it came to Remington however and his relation to the little baby, a heavy silence fell. First Beau was fidgeting with his trousers and staring. But then he suddenly jumped off and stormed into the garden.

Neil had had orders to grab the cake, but that wasn’t as easy as it had seemed. At first, the silly cowhead went backwards, so Neil couldn’t possible get to his head. Then the head came close to Neil. It was the first time he had a feeling this couldn’t end well.
